Benefits of an alkaline diet
To enjoy good health, we all know that food plays an important role. A balanced diet, rich in nutrients and as colorful as possible, is one of the keys to keeping our bodies strong and healthy. But did you know that there are some foods that instead of doing us good, could make our body prone to disease?
So is. Through our blood, the pH can be measured; index that measures the acidity or alkalinity of our body on a scale from 0 to 14. As in life, the same happens with the pH of our body: we must maintain a balance, with 7.4 being the ideal index for our body.
Our body is naturally alkaline; healthy. Bad eating habits, stress and external factors such as environmental pollution are factors that alter our pH, causing our body to acidify. When this happens, the blood steals nutrients from other vital organs in our body, causing tiredness, headaches, and digestive problems. Therefore, in addition to being physically active, meditating, getting enough sleep and drinking water, it is important to consume more alkaline foods (vegetables, fruits, cereals, legumes, green tea) and avoid those that are acidic (coffee, alcohol, soft drinks, sugar refined, white flour, dairy, processed foods, red meat).
Alkaline foods help us regulate the pH, and thus our body will be better prepared to prevent and fight diseases.
The main benefits of an alkaline diet are:
1 – Balances the acidity in the blood.
2 – Strengthens the bones.
3 – Reduces the risk of kidney stones.
4 – They promote heart health.
5 – Stimulates the immune system.
Do you think they are sufficient reasons to include alkaline foods more frequently in your diet?
